November 9, 2009

We have some photos from the BAFTAs on our Facebook page

Bevis didn’t win the award in the documentary category but he didn’t seem to be put out by that.  Film maker Bill Forsyth got a Lifetime Achievement award and about time too we say.  A good time was had by all.

Stewart Memorial Fountain Refurb

October 15, 2009

Stewart Memorial Fountain

The refurbished project of the magnificent Stewart Memorial Fountain was unveiled on Wednesday the 13th of October at 2.15pm. Cameron Presentations were delighted to be involved providing P.A. and stage management.

Built in 1871-2 of granite, sandstone, marble and bronze, this flamboyant French-Scottish Gothic structure commemorates the Lord Provost Robert Stewart, the man who was mostly responsible for establishing Glasgow’s first permanent supply of fresh water from Loch Katrine.

After a long period of neglect and disuse, the beautiful structure was the subject of a major restoration scheme in 1988. After a couple of years of renewed activity, problems with pipework and incessant vandalism led to the closing down of the fountain.

In keeping with the Loch Katrine 150th Commemorative Anniversary of Queen Victoria opening the first sluice gate at the entrance to the aqueduct at Loch Katrine as the fountain commemorated the original project.

"The event went extremely well yesterday which featured on the BBC and STV region news programmes last night. Many thanks for provision of staff and hire of PA system, I’m sure we will again seek you’re services in the near future."

Glasvegas Play Secret Glasgow Gig

September 4, 2009

On Tuesday 2nd September Glasvegas, the Glasgow rock band nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for their self-titled debut album, played a secret gig in vintage clothes shop ’We Love To Boogie’ in Glasgow’s west end.

50 fans crammed in to the shop with hundreds more gathered outside, peering through the windows and singing along to such hits as ’Geraldine’ and ’Daddy’s Gone’.

The band announced they were planning a secret gig on the day before on their Twitter page, only releasing the location of the gig hours before the show.

Cameron’s were let in on the secret a few hours before the fans, not just because we’re special, but because the band were looking for a projector and we were only to happy to oblige.
